A. ATM transaction precautions
- Choose a Secure PIN: Select a unique and strong Personal Identification Number (PIN) for your Debit card. Avoid using easily guessable combinations, such as birthdays or simple sequences.
- Shield Your PIN: When entering your PIN at the ATM, cover the keypad with your hand or body to prevent others from seeing it.
- Be Aware of Your Surroundings: Always be cautious of your surroundings when using an ATM. Avoid using the ATM if there are suspicious individuals nearby.
- Use ATMs in Well-lit Areas: Choose ATMs located in well-lit and busy areas, especially during nighttime. This reduces the risk of being targeted by criminals.
- Check for Skimming Devices: Inspect the card slot and keypad for any unusual devices or attachments before inserting your card. If something looks suspicious, don’t use the ATM.
- Secure Your Card: Keep your Debit card in a safe place, and report its loss or theft to the bank immediately. Do not share your card or PIN with anyone.
- Beware of Shoulder Surfing: Be cautious of individuals standing close by who may try to observe your PIN as you enter it.
- Monitor Account Activity: Regularly check your bank statements and online accounts for any unauthorized transactions. Report any discrepancies to as soon as possible.
- Transaction Alerts: Check for transaction alerts and notify the Bank in case of any activity on your account.

B. Mobile and Internet Banking precautions
- Use Strong Passwords: Create complex passwords that include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using easily guessable information such as birthdays or names. Mobile PIN (MPIN should also be strong and not sequential).
- Don’t Share your Password: Ahadu Bank will never ask for your password. Please don’t share your password or MPIN
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Our OTP adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password.
- Secure Your Device: Use a password, PIN, or biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition) to lock your device. Enable device encryption to protect the data on your device.
- Beware of Phishing Attempts: Be cautious of emails, messages, or calls asking for your banking credentials. Do not click on links, and verify the authenticity of communication with your bank by calling the toll free support line at 694.
- Always download Apps from Official Stores: Only download banking apps from official app stores (Google Play Store, Apple App Store) to reduce the risk of downloading malicious apps.
- Logout After Each Session: Always log out of your mobile or internet banking session when you’re done. Avoid using public computers or devices for banking transactions.
